Holly's Cape Henlopen Sunset Portraits | Delaware State Parks

Updated: Jan 15, 2022

Cape Henlopen's Delaware State Park was the perfect backdrop for this first birthday family session. Right next to the Cape Fishing Pier we spent time hanging on the beach, getting their toes (and clothes) wet in the

bay, and maybe chased a bird or two. Lots of fun was had up in the air with dad!

Let me be honest for a moment. Dads used to make me the most nervous at sessions. They often don't want to be photographed and would love to be anywhere else. (Please make sure when you schedule your session his favorite team is not playing!)

However, when I coach your family to be themselves and have a little fun this is what happens. Relationships between dads and their kids has become the most beautiful thing to witness.

The absolute best tip for an amazing family photo session is to allow your family to be themselves. This dad showed up with a smile and ready to play and love on his kiddos. That is what it takes! He hugged and loved on all of his ladies. Tossing them around and carrying them by their feet.

I am pleased to say that dads are now one of my very favorite things at sessions! They have such wonderful relationships with their kiddos and it is the best art life has to offer! You will want to hand these images on your walls and remember when they were so little.

The Cape Fishing Pier is one of this family's favorite spots to go which made everyone right at home. Playing in the water, collecting shells, watching the sunset, and having fun.

Look at how these sisters look at each other!
