As a Delaware family photographer, one of my biggest goals is to make sure your session feels uniquely yours. No two families are the same, so your photos shouldn’t look like anyone else’s either. That’s why I love exploring different locations with my clients—each spot offers many backdrops, a fresh mood, and a chance to tell your family's story in a way that feels authentic.

When you book a session with me, the location becomes more than just scenery—it’s part of your family’s experience. Whether we’re under a canopy of trees, sitting on a park bench, or wandering along a path, the environment helps shape the photos while keeping you at the very center. The backdrop is there to complement your family, never to compete with you.

Killens Pond State Park offers two options for photos. While I meet you in one of two locations, there are still many options within each of these locations. I meet you at the Sports Complex or The Nature Center. Both locations offer parking. The Delaware State Parks do have an entrance fees for all visitors. If there is not an attendant in the fee booth, you STILL need to use the small self registration box or the credit card stations.
The Sports Complex: Featuring open fields and recreational amenities, this area is great for vibrant shots of kids at play. Think of capturing a child mid-jump as they kick a soccer ball across the field or racing their siblings in the open space.

The Nature Center: With its surrounding greenery, the Nature Center creates a serene setting for family photos. There is a water view, as well as large stone steps, solid color walls (I don't often use) and piles of fall leaves.

I want you to feel like you have gone for a walk in the park! By moving together, we avoid stiff, overly posed moments. Kids love the chance to explore, parents relax a little more, and natural connections start to shine through. It keeps the energy flowing and the smiles genuine. Every turn along the path gives us something different—sunlight filtering through leaves, a stretch of open field, or even a little hidden corner that feels like it’s just for you.

Dover’s Historic Buildings

Dover is full of historic buildings provide an enchanting backdrop for your family photos. The striking colonial architecture and meticulously preserved historical sites can infuse your images with elegance and character. A walk in any direction provides endless options for backdrops.

Brecknock Park
While Brecknock Park is used by many photographers, I still like to create a unique session. Sure we can do a few photos with the iconic locations, but we create lots of new spots that can't be identified as this park. They do usually have a blooming meadow and do not cut back their gardens for habitats. This allows us the benefits of an uncut natural location.

Abbots Mill

No two sessions are ever the same, even if we revisit a location. At the end of the day, the location is simply the stage. You and your family are the stars of the show. My job is to make sure your story is told in a way that’s beautiful, timeless, and uniquely yours.
