K & C were Shannon Ritter Photography wedding clients, now newborn (and Maternity) clients. Newborn sessions take place in your home which means you get to be at home with all of your things that you might need postpartum. No forgetting diapers or pacifiers! This also means that you get to be in the comfort of your home. I recently had a mom say during our newborn session, "I can't believe I took both of my other newborn babies to a studio. This is the best thing [being at her own home] I have ever done. I wish I did this with my other two kids." This family had moved into a brand new home the same week they brought baby home. Your house does NOT, repeat this again, does NOT need to be spotless. If there is something that needs to be moved, I do that!

A Newborn Wrap Session takes place right in the comfort of your home. I bring absolutely everything with me—blankets, buckets, wraps, hats, headbands, a heater, my camera gear, and more. Think of it as me creating a little newborn studio in your living room. The best part? When the session is finished, I pack it all back up and take it with me, leaving you to relax with your baby.

These sessions are centered around your little one being safely and comfortably wrapped. Babies love being snug and cozy, which makes for the most peaceful images of them curled up in soft textures and gentle colors. Your baby will be photographed in a variety of wraps and placed inside styled containers like baskets or bowls—capturing that sweet, sleepy newborn stage you’ll want to remember forever.

I know many parents worry about being “camera ready” just days or weeks after giving birth. Please don’t stress! You don’t have to look picture perfect for these photos. A little mascara and something you feel comfortable in is all you need. If you’d like, we can include a few lifestyle-style family photos—just you holding your baby in your arms, which always makes for the most heartfelt memories.

A Newborn Wrap Session typically lasts 3+ hours. Every baby is different, and the pace of the session depends entirely on your little one’s needs—feeding, soothing, and snuggling breaks are all part of the process. If you are nursing, sessions can take a little more time as your baby is still learning. Bottle fed babies can have some of their bottles to settle them while being photographed. Either way, our schedule allows for plenty of time to get the photos and memories. My goal is to create a relaxed, stress-free experience that lets us capture the best moments at your baby’s rhythm.

We of course went outside to have the new home photographed. Documenting your real life is one of my greatest honors.

And yes, if you have ever doubted a sports fan I can promise you its not this dad! Check out the photos from his wedding showing his loyalty!
