Backyard Garden Wedding | Liz & John | Private Home

Updated: Jun 21, 2023

Liz & John decided to get married in their parent's backyard. John, the groom, helped Liz's dad plant all kinds of beautiful garden beds with flowers that bloomed just on time. Their dog got to be a part of the celebration along with their family and friends. Their bridal portraits were done in the gardens as well as at a local bridge and a neighbor's yard as well. This backyard wedding was not the first plan they had; however, it was stunning and a great way to celebrate their love. They do end up getting to have their big wedding the following summer when the COVID restrictions were lifted.

From Liz: Liz and John’s relationship started in the spring of 2009, where they would talk and joke in school. It was not until freshman year of high school when John finally mustered up the courage to ask Liz to homecoming. Two weeks later, on October 30, 2009, John asked Liz to be his girlfriend! Liz and John then ended up attending Lebanon Valley College together, where they both grew into the individuals they are today. After college graduation, Liz and John both wanted to experience living on their own before living together. John lived in Lititz, PA with his best friends, where he worked as a scientist. Liz lived in Bethlehem, PA with her best friend to start her career as a web designer. However, living apart did not stop them from doing long drives every weekend to see one another for just a few days. In May 2019, Liz and John moved into their apartment together and two months later, during Liz’s family’s Rehoboth Beach vacation, John asked Liz to marry him. John was the most nervous he had been since that day nearly 10 years ago he asked Liz to be his girlfriend. Liz said yes to the engagement proposal, and now they are so excited to be getting married on July 18th, 2020 with a small, family wedding. On July 10, 2021 we will celebrate being married for one year with a vow renewal and a reception.
